Lemo Festival 2024 was officially launched on 27 June at the Lemo Green Park. Various stakeholders, including the official banking partner, ABSA, were present as well as Seda, the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA).
The Deputy Mayor of the Free State, Lulama Titi-Odilli, was in attendance and also confirmed that the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) supports this initiative hosted by the Kenworth Group. Odilli was more inspired by the group for launching the festival during Youth Month to motivate and inspire the youth.
Festival Director, Mosele Lepheane, further mentioned that the festival will be divided into two segments. The first segment will commence on 3 September whereas the second will start in October.
Lepheane further added that there will be various artists including the likes of Young Stunna, Benjamin Dube and Vinni da Vinci. “This year, we ensured that 30% of our performances are by local artists. We want to give everyone a fair chance.”

CEO of the Kenworth Group, Freddie Kenny, applauded community members for their efforts to ensure the festival is smooth sailing, as well as secure for those attending for the first time.
According to Kenny, there is no competition between Lemo Fest and Macufe. “I just want to see growth in these communities and show investors a different side of the township areas,” Kenny mentioned.

Kenny further mentioned that the group spent over R50 million to ensure the success of the second edition of the Lemo Fest.
The festival will consist of the Qoai Fashion Show, AfroGlobe, Lover and Friends, Yano/Legends Events and so much more. Tickets are already available and can be purchased at Webtickets.
