‘Fashion influencer’ bags international deals

From being a pageant boy in third grade to being one of the city’s most talked about fashion influencers, Lethabo Woods (19), is taking the fashion industry by storm and his unique view on fashion has finally paid off. Woods, who is originally from Welkom, has spent most of his years in Bloemfontein and says he fell in love with the City of Roses and “never wanted to go back home”.
The fierce and talented Woods has been receiving international attention due to his wardrobe choices. He has been approached by two international brands, Halifornia Apparel from Canada and Dresden Row, to be their brand ambassador. His Instagram page is currently growing through his own fashion blog where he showcases his work.
“God is opening the doors for me that I’ve been praying for. I knew the content I had put out was powerful. The followers I have, show me so much love every time I put out new content. That’s one of the reasons brands want to work with me,” Woods added.
“My style is very different because I don’t really follow trends. I’m more into the ’90s look and I watch a lot of ’90s sitcoms. That’s where I get the ideas for my outfits.” Woods described his style as futuristic with a touch of vintage. “Two of my fashion icons have to be Rihanna and Ricky Rick, because both of them wear whatever they want instead of following trends. They start trends.”
According to Woods his future plans include being a stylist. He also plans on starting his own clothing brand, so make sure to look out for him on Instagram at lethabowoods. – PIERCE VAN HEERDEN
