Farmer’s bakkie vandalized and set alight in NW

North West police say the motive behind the vandalism of a Buffelspoort farmer’s bakkie, that was set alight, remains a mystery at this stage.

Police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says they are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.

She says this follows after the 38-year-old victim heard his dog barking and went to investigate. Subsequent to that he saw his vehicle burning.

Funani says the victim then alerted the local police.

No one has been arrested at this stage. The province in 2019 had several cases of farm attacks reported.

Among those was the attack of an elderly woman who was shot dead in an armed robbery on a farm near Vostershoop, outside Vryburg in February this year.
