Jomo Cosmos will be looking to change their fortunes on Tuesday evening when they host AmaZulu in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

Cosmos are being threatened with relegation in the Premier Soccer League after managing just four wins in their 21 league outings thus far.

While Ezenkosi are just one point above the relegation zone, they are well aware of the fact that the Nedbank Cup is their last hope of silverware this season, albeit a slim chance.

Cosmos centre back, Jarred Meyer, told Courant that a win over Usuthu could help them in their nine remaining PSL games.

“No team would want to be lying where we are now in the league,” Meyer said.

“But then again, it’s just very important to stick together because each and every point counts and it’s a crucial stage of the PSL now.

“But looking at the Nedbank Cup, if we can get a win here and take that form into the PSL, it will help.”

The tall defender added AmaZulu cannot be underestimated and they will have a point to prove.

“They are the underdogs and they will be looking to prove that they still deserve to be in the PSL, so it’s not going to be an easy game.

“We need to take our opportunities and take them early.”

Tuesday night’s match at Olën Park in Potchefstroom kicks off at 19:30, while at the same time Moroka Swallows host SuperSport United in Dobsonville.
