An energetic and committed Lieutenant-Colonel Makhotso Motsoeli, who boasts an overwhelming 32-years of experience, has been placed at the helm of the Bultfontein police station as station manager.

Police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, said the born and bred Motsoeli of Theunissen in the Lejweleputswa Local Municipality, brings vast experience to the area. She enlisted in the South African Police Service (SAPS) in 1986 and has worked at various police stations where she was promoted to the level of captain.

Thakeng added that Motsoeli also served as station commander at the Glen and Steynsrus police stations prior to her promotion to the rank of lieutenant-colonel in December 2018 as Bultfontein’s station commander.

“Motsoeli will ensure that residents of Phahameng, Bultfontein and the farming community are and feel safe,” Thakeng stated.

“She has committed herself to work with all sectors of the community and hopes to root out social ills such as domestic violence, assault GBH (grievous bodily harm), stock theft, residential and business burglaries. Residents are once more requested to attend the sector meetings and imbizos of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) as  that is where crime pattern analysis will be presented,” Thakeng concluded. – Lucky Nkuyane
