Eunice choir ends year on high note

2018 was a very exciting year for the Eunice Vitae Cantamus Choir.

The Eunice Vitae Cantamus Choir has had quite an impressive year and is ending it on a high note with a two-week tour to Europe.
The 10th World Choir Games, which took place in Tshwane in 2018, was indeed a triumphant occasion for the choir when it participated in the Champions Competition, winning a prestigious gold medal in the Musica Sacra section and a silver medal in the section for Music of Spirit and Faith. The choir was also crowned joint-national champion in a South African choir television competition, Sing in Harmonie, in September 2018.
Today, choir members will be departing for their overseas trip, not only for fun and games but to perform with other choirs. From 30 November until 2 December the ladies in green will take part in a Prague Choir Competition and various public performances.
On Monday 3 December they will visit Cesky Krumlov. With a busy schedule ahead, they will travel to Passau on Tuesday 4 December, where they will have a guided walking tour of the city and then perform a concert in St Paul with the Domsingschule Youth Choir. To end off the day, they will visit St Stephen’s Cathedral where the world’s largest cathedral organ is found.
On Wednesday 5 December the girls will travel to Salzburg and have a guided Sound of Music Tour, visit the Lake District Mondsee, St. Gilgen and Fuschl, with choir performance in a church in Mondsee on 6 December. They will attend a workshop with the High School Choir of Borromäum and conclude with a concert in Pfarrkirche Herrnau with the Vokalensemble.
Another few exciting events will take place from 7 to 16 December. The highlight is on Thursday 13 December when the girls will attend the Brixen International Symposium on Children’s Choirs, in collaboration with the Südtiroler Chorverband, Federazione Cori Alto Adige and SiME (Singing in Music Education) arranged by Prof. Johan van der Sandt from the Free University of Bolzano, Bressanone, Italy. On Friday 14 December they will be in Brixen, performing during the morning Advent Mass in the cathedral, and on Saturday evening they will perform at a Christmas market. Sunday they will end off their tour in the Pfarrkirche with an afternoon advent concert with the South Tirol Youth Choir.
