Residents of Mangaung Metro (MMM), particularly in the former Naledi region of Thaba Nchu and Botshabelo, are informed that Eskom will undertake maintenance at the Welbedacht Dam substation on Saturday 11 November.

According to the MMM spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, this will require an interruption in the electrical supply at the Welbedacht Dam – Novo SS, Knelpoort SS.

“During this operation, there could be water shutdowns and/or restricted water supply to communities. The maintenance is scheduled for 12 hours,” said Khedama.

He added that all residents, businesses and consumers in the affected areas are kindly requested to make the necessary arrangements for gathering water for cooking, washing, cleaning, etc.

“Electricity supply may be restored without warning at any time during the interruption period, therefore, all electrical installations must be treated as live and dangerous,” said Khedama.
