Eskom commenced load restoration

Eskom has commenced load restoration on Friday late afternoon.

According to Eskom’s spokesperson Zanda Matoti it means that load shedding has been terminated for the day and electricity should be available to all areas.

“However, some customers might not have their power supply returned immediately as it takes an extended time for some Municipalities to restore power to their customers. While there is no load shedding planned over the weekend, the system remains vulnerable, meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to implement load shedding,” he said.

Matoti added that Eskom thanked all South Africans for heeding the call to reduce energy consumption.

“We ask that you continue to Live Lightly this summer. Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all media platforms,” said Matoti.
