The Engo – Our Child and Youth Care Centre in Bloemfontein has appointed Carin Beukes as the new principal, as she takes over from Frikkie van Dyk.
According to Engo Free State, Beukes, who has a passion for children, also has 22 years of management experience and obtained a B Soc Sc degree at the University of the Free State.
“People, with specific reference to youth and their needs, are my passion and I will always strive for the best interest of every child entrusted to alternative care,” said Beukes.
Van Dyk, who has been involved with Our Child and Youth Care Centre in Bloemfontein for the past 18 years, accepted a position at the Engo Provincial Office for Youth Care Centres in January 2024.
There, he will also manage the Engo Care Leaver Programme, where there is a specific focus on the needs of children who have to leave the care of Engo after school.
