Engen brings Supersport United to Grey College

Engen Petroleum has confirmed its newly sponsored team, Supersport United, will make their way to Grey College on Saturday to conduct a One-Day youth coaching clinic prior to their open training session at the same venue.

Matsatsantsa will go through their training routine at the city’s popular school at 15h30 ahead of their clash against locals, Bloemfontein Celtic FC on Sunday, 16 March.

“We are proud to have such a strong association with Supersport United and thank them for hosting this coaching clinic and engaging with local supporters at Grey College High School.”

“It is important for the Engen organisation to share this special occasion with the Bloemfontein community and to invite young soccer players to come along and experience the fun filled afternoon with us,” commented Brad Bergh – Group Sponsorship Manager, Engen Petroleum Limited.

The afternoon will see players such as skipper, Bevan Fransman, goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, striker, Mame Niang, and others interact with young aspiring soccer stars, which will include autograph and photo sessions before moving out onto the field of the sport complex to hone their pre-match preparation.

The Pretoria-based side is fourth on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) standings with 32 points.

They are five points behind Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits, and 11 behind the defending champions, Kaizer Chiefs.

Sundowns and Wits have 37 points apiece, on the second and third spots respectively, and Chiefs are at the summit of the standings with 43 points.

However, the man at helm, Cavin Johnson, will be looking to collect maximum points as he is optimistic his side can still close on the gap between them and the top three teams.

He believes his side is at the right mental state and has gained much needed momentum form their previous three victories in the CAF Confederations Cup.
