Veronica Kruger is the Assistant Director at the Office of the State Attorney in Bloemfontein.
Beyond her professional role, Kruger also runs the well-known community group named “Heidedal Enough is Enough.”
As the administrator of the “Heidedal Enough is Enough” group, she took the initiative to create a space where people can share their needs and find assistance.
According to Kruger, the reason for starting the Single Mama Support was a heartfelt anonymous post from a lady seeking support. She then recognised the need and decided to take action.
“The only resources that I would love to use to help these single mamas or any other mother that has a challenge, whether they are married or not, is to share a testimony from somebody else,” said Kruger.
Drawing inspiration from her faith and the belief that a true testimony can save a life, Kruger envisions the community sharing their real-life experiences.
“I want people to share their true testimonies with others. And in that process, the person seeking help should get healing from a true testimony.
That is the only resource that I would love to use. And if the matter is severe, then I would definitely call a psychologist,” said Kruger.
According to her, the single moms club is open to everyone willing to contribute to the betterment of the community.
She encourages individuals to join and share their resources for the collective good.
“I want us to have engagements and maybe meet thrice a year where we have a discussion and invite guest speakers.
This will address the social ills such as alcohol abuse and drug abuse in the community,” she said.
