On Saturday 7 December 2019, Dr Thabo Diseko hosted a Free Financial Wellness Workshop that took place at Precinct Financial Consultants in Westdene, Bloemfontein.

The workshop was hosted to empower communities with financial literacy skills to help them navigate the personal finance landscape and to manage their finances wisely. This is according to Dr Diseko, who runs the NGO, Bokamoso Financial Literacy Institute.

“Many South Africans, especially those in the townships and black communities, live from hand to mouth and are heavily indebted. This is due to lack of financial literacy skills. The workshop is intended to empower these communities with crucial financial literacy skills to help them get out of debt, live within their means and to manage their finances better,” said Dr Diseko.

According to Dr Diseko community members were advised to stay clear from debt and pay off whatever debt they may have and live within their means to create a surplus that can be invested to create wealth.

The well attended event was hosted in partnership with Precinct Financial Consultants. Dr. Diseko urges more people to attend the events.
