Emoyamed has finally opened its doors under a new name as well as new management. The specialist hospital opened on 1 February 2024.
The hospital consists of three state-of-the-art operating theatres that contain laminar flow. It has been revamped and now consists of 17 intensive care beds, 55 acute care beds, and 19 acute rehabilitation beds.
The opening of the emergency centre is under way. Emoyamed Bloemfontein is located in a serene estate right in the centre of the Free State. It offers patients’ loved ones the opportunity to rest at a luxurious hotel and enjoy facilities such as a day spa while their family members are receiving top-tier medical care.
In a statement released by Emoyamed Bloemfontein, the new hospital director, Dr Franco Erasmus, mentioned that he intends to deliver excellent services to patients in Central South Africa.
“We truly believe that the hospital will provide the Bloemfontein community with broader access to safe, private medical care,” said Erasmus.
In the statement, a specialist physician, Dr Marisan Nienkamper, added that “Emoyamed is not a place where patients are considered another bed number, but as a person with a body and a spirit.”
