Easter tournament aims to honour and empower youth

The Mangaung Easter Tournament has been hosted since last year and will commence from 29 March from 09:00 until 16:00 at the Johnson Bendile Outdoor Sports Centre in Bochabela.

The tournament was hosted for soccer only in December 2023, by ANP Revitalizer, but has grown since by including netball.

The collaboration between Honouring Mothers in Business and ANP Revitalizer was formed when Neuro Linguistic Programming Coach for Honouring Mothers, Matumo Molosioa, realised that it is quite crucial for netball to also form part of this auspicious community initiative.

For the first time, netball will be included this year and will be coordinated by the foundation, Honouring Women. Four Bloemfontein-based schools are expected to showcase their netball talent.

The four schools are Lekgulong, Sehunelo, St Bernard’s, and Vulamasango, with a possible surprise of two teams from another Bloemfontein-based school.

Molosioa mentioned that the champions will be presented with a big trophy. The best players of the tournament will be presented with goodies from various stakeholders and sponsors.

“For soccer criteria, the chosen schools were from those who won previous tournaments. We then invited the school’s same netball teams to participate in our very first Honouring Women Foundation netball tournament,” said Molosioa.

Molosioa mentioned that the managing team is very grateful to be joining hands with a team of qualified umpires and coaches to ensure all goes well in terms of the running of the tournament.

The tournament is free for everyone who wants to attend . “The main aim of this initiative is to empower and develop more talent from the community of Mangaung,” added Molosioa.

As a life coach, Matumo also hopes to lend a helping hand when it comes to personal issues in the lives of the youth participating in these various sports, and help them reach their full potential through hard work, passion and talent.
