The Free State Department of Police, Roads, and Transport says plans for Easter holidays are already underway.
The Provincial Traffic spokesperson, Kabelo Moloabi, says they have previously experienced a number of road carnages during this time of the year and are to ensure strict law enforcement this time.
He says they are currently grappling with motorists exceeding the speed limit, driving under the influence of alcohol, and not making use of safety belts.
He urges all motorists to abide by the traffic laws.
Moloabi says starting from today as the 1st of April they are already ensuring that all traffic officers are visible and deployed at different places to ensure that there is a smooth traffic flow.
He urges motorists to ensure that everyone in the vehicle is safe at all time.
He says they are to uphold the same strategy throughout the year.
