Drug dealer suspect arrested in Bloemfontein


The members of Park Road crime prevention proved to be the winning team and that they are vigilant whilst conducting patrols. This follows an arrest of a 44-year-old man for dealing in drugs.

The three members were on routine patrol at Piet Avenue (CBD) area this afternoon at around 13:00 when they spotted a suspicious man walk-past in the street next to Bloemhof flats carrying a black bag. After apprehending him and upon searching the bag he was carrying, they found a 2kg transparent plastic bag containing mandrax tablets. The bag contained nine hundred and forty (940) pills to the street value of one hundred thousand rand (R100 000.00) only.

When questioned, the man provided that he was on his way to deliver the package (drugs). Further investigation will be conducted to locate the exact location and originality of the drugs.

A case of dealing in drugs was opened and further investigations will be conducted. He will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Tuesday the 7 April 2015.
