Dope Squad, a group of young talented singers and rappers from the streets of Dewetsdorp, was formed in July 2018 by Tshepo “Cmax” Moseme and co-founder Teboho “Tee Wolf ” Lebala. Today the gang has eight members, all independent artists.

Moseme told Bloemfontein Courant that they have released their first hit single as a family called “Ketsa Tjena”. The tune got air play at Mosupatsela FM among others.

“We have done many songs together since we started this partnership. Unfortunately five of our members decided to leave the crew last year as we started seeing things differently. Others left to focus on their education and finding sustainable jobs.

“On production we worked with the talented Dhee Beatzs form the beginning. He saw potential in us and there was no need to throw in the towel because of the split. He even gave us free studio and mentoring sessions,” said Moseme.

It was not easy but they kept doing what they love, which is making great music. They recently released a hit track, titled “Skorokoro”, followed by African Queen, which is still making waves on many local radio stations.

“Radio DJ Ba2cada also played our song on his show “Rea Kubeletsa” on Lesedi FM. We are currently signed under Oathmen Entertainment, which is a local label. We will soon release our first body of work, titled Tsoha o iketsetse, which is a 13 track EP.
