Deputy Police Minister Maggie Sotyu is expected to remind the youth of Makeleketla in Winburg of its important role in the fight against crime during a scheduled visit to the area today.
The recently launched FS Crime Prevention Strategy noted a high incidence of crimes committed by youths under the influence gangsterism and drug abuse. Sotyu is expected to engage with youngsters on these issues as part of attempts to eradicate crime in the province.
She will also commemorate women’s month by visiting roadblocks manned by women and is scheduled to meet with senior citizens in the area.
A public engagement session is scheduled to take place at Makeleketla Community Hall from 11am.
