Deputy Minister in Presidency goes Back-to-School

Deputy Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Pinky Kekana, will conduct frontline monitoring and host a ‘Back-To-School’ campaign in the Free State specifically four schools in Harrismith on 25 January 2024.

These four schools are Harrismith Secondary School, Kgethatsebo Secondary School, Sasamala Secondary School, and Lerato Uthando Secondary School.

The schools fall under Maluti-a-Phofung local Municipality in the Free State. The campaign aims to teach learners about the importance of education while promoting collaboration among stakeholders to improve the education sector.

As part of her visit to the schools, Deputy Minister Kekana will also engage with the Department of Education, school management, teachers, parents, school governing bodies, and learners.

Officials from the Free State department of Education and local leadership will be attending this campaign alongside the Deputy Minister.

The officials will be assisting Kekana with monitoring and assessing the state of readiness at the identified schools.
