The President of the Republic of South Africa Mr Jacob Zuma has requested that the date for the State of the Nation Address be changed to Tuesday, 17 June 2014.
This official ceremony of State was originally set for Thursday, 19 June, at 19:00.
This will be President Zuma’s first Address to the joint sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces since the establishment of the Fifth Parliament.
The June State of the Nation Address which follows the national and provincial elections will be delivered in the evening at 19:00, as has been the case in recent years.
