Bloemfontein – Clayton Daniels and Frank Mhango walked away with the Player of the Season and the Players’ Player of the Season awards respectively at the club’s recent award ceremony.

Daniels, who is set to leave Siwelele for Pretoria-based side, SuperSport United, was grateful to have been rewarded for all his hard work.

The 29-year-old centre back took over the captaincy at Celtic, following the departure of the Bafana Bafana international, Thabo Nthethe, to big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns during the January transfer window.

Since then, the former Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town defender guided Siwelele to seven wins, six draws and three loses in 16 games as a skipper.

Meanwhile the 21-year-old Mhango also scooped the club’s Top Goal Scorer award, having found the back of the net eight times during the league.

His fellow forward, Lerato Lamola, won Phunya Sele Sele’s Top Young Player accolade.

Mhango is also one of three PSL nominees in line for the Premiership Young Player of the Season award, alongside the Ajax duo of Keagan Dolly and Abbubaker Mobara.

The PSL awards will take place on Sunday, 18 May 2014, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.
