The Danish weapons dealer from Bloemfontein, accused of amongst others conspiracy to murder and the manufacturing and distributing of child pornography, cried in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court yesterday as he spoke about his wife's death.
Peter Frederiksen told the court, as he took the stand in his bail application, that the first time he had heard of Anna Matseliso Molise's killing was when he read about it in newspapers. When the prosecution put it to Frederiksen that he was part of the conspiracy to murder Molise because she knew too much, he declined to comment, except to say there was no evidence suggesting that he had murdered his wife.
Frederiksen pleaded not guilty to nine charges including assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, manufacturing child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography, conspiracy to murder and bigamy.
Courant's Owen Kock reports that the application will resume this morning.
Molise had assisted the police with information about Frederiksen. The Hawks have previously described her killing as a suspected hit. – Owen Kock
