CUT vice-chancellor honours top performers at annual awards

On 24 October, Prof. Pamela Dube, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Central University of Technology (CUT), celebrated the top staff members for their work in teaching, research, innovation and entrepreneurship, community involvement, and support services. The glitzy Vice-Chancellor’s Awards Ceremony highlighted the institute’s commitment to recognising and promoting top performances across the board.

Prof. Dube recognised the award winners for their hard work and excellence, noting their key role in pushing CUT’s big-picture goals. “These awards serve as a testament to the remarkable achievements of our staff in research, innovation, teaching, curriculum development, and community engagement,” she said. “Your dedication and hard work continue to inspire us all to strive for greater heights and to think beyond.”

This year’s standout winners were:

  • Teaching Award: Tsholofelo Tshabadira
  • Research Award: Dr Jeanne Coetzer, Dr Thywill Dzogbewu, and Dr Chika Chukwuma
  • Community Engagement Award: Itumeleng Kgololo-Ngowi, Collete Maasdorp, Bridgette Mokgosi, Nomfundo Khoza, and Dr Lentswe Mosweunyane
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award: Dr Lehlohonolo Monaheng
  • Support Staff Award: Mapaseka Gladys Muso, Malesela Matlawe, Emmanuel Zungu, and Dr Reynell van der Ross
  • Special Award: Hannelie van der Walt (Living CUT Values) and Sidumo Aubrey Rikhotso (Ethics Ambassador)
