CUT students released on warning

Five students from the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, were released on a warning by the Local Magistrate’s Court yesterday after being arrested in Bloemfontein last week.

OFM News reports, public violence charges have been filed against the students. Currently, the case has been postponed for further investigations, and the accused are scheduled to appear in court on 5 August 2022.

Meanwhile, the CUT continues to conduct examinations on campus despite threats of protests. This comes after a statement from the South African Students Congress (Sasco) urging students not to succumb to alleged threats from the management of the institution.
