Bloemfontein – Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State’s right back, Letlafuwa Mohloai, said they displayed a great performance against BUBCHU United, despite failing to convert the scoring chances they created.
United crushed CUT 2-1 to end CUT’s unbeaten home run this season, but Mohloai said luck was not on their side.
“We did all we could; created as many scoring opportunities as we could, but luck was just not on our side,” Mohloai told Courant Sport.
“We kept the fighting spirit, but it was not to be,” he added.
The defensive midfielder highlighted that BUBCHU play great football.
“Take nothing away from them; they are a good team. They showed character and if they continue like this in their remaining games, they might win the league,” added Mohloai.
Despite the loss, CUT and United remain on the fifth and second spots respectively.
CUT are on 34 points while United are equal with log-leaders, Super Eagles on 40.
In their next match, CUT travel to Sasolburg to face Vaal Legend, and Mohloai is upbeat about his side’s chances against the eleventh-placed side.
“It is going to be difficult, but we are ready. We have put the loss behind and will be looking to go all out,” he added.
