Learning continues at Grey College Primary School in Bloemfontein on Wednesday, despite a learner testing positive for Covid-19.

OFM News reports that the Free State Education Department spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, confirms that a grade 3 learner at this school tested positive yesterday. He says this learner, the teacher and 22 other classmates will self-isolate at home. He states that they will make their return to school next week. Ndaba further says that a system has been put in place to separate classes during the course of the day.

Meanwhile learning at the Grey College Secondary School is on hold until next week. The headmaster, Deon Scheepers, revealed in a letter addressed to parents that a grade 12 learner tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week.

This is the third confirmed coronavirus case at Grey College. OFM News previously reported that an 18-year-old Grade 12 learner at the school tested positive for the virus last month. He was quarantined with 19 other learners and some teachers who were residing at the same school hostel.
