The Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality’s offices in the Free State were closed on Friday.
OFM News reports that this follows after a positive coronavirus (Covid-19) case was registered there.
Executive mayor, Masetjhaba Mosia-Lakaje, apologised for any inconvenience caused.
She warned staff, clients, and the community at large to maintain social distance, sanitise their hands regularly, wear their face masks at all times, and observe all precautions to mitigate the pandemic.
She also mentioned that although the offices are closed, all essential services will be provided within the given constraints.
The offices are expected to be reopened on Tuesday.
