Coppélia to wow Bloem after success in Joburg

The Joburg Ballet has electrified Johannesburg with their spectacular performances of Coppélia bringing joy and laughter to families and cheering audiences. Now, Bloemfontein welcomes them for just four exceptional shows presented by PACOFS at Sand du Plessis Theatre from tomorrow until 29 March.
This glittering cast of 40 delivers all the romance, jealousy, intrigue and comedy that make Coppélia one of the best loved ballets in the world. Coppélia tells the story of an old toymaker who believes he’s breathed life into his most beautiful mechanical doll. His joy may be short-lived but all ends happily in this most endearing and heart-warming of the great ballet classics.
Shining with the glow of success in Gauteng, Joburg Ballet’s Coppélia brings live entertainment at its best to Bloemfontein in this classic treat for the entire family.
As part of a drive to actively include the community and grow audiences, engendering social cohesion and national identity that is representative of our rich and diverse culture, Joburg Ballet and PACOFS are indeed laying the foundation for greatness by giving young dancers from Bloemfontein the chance to dance in Coppélia. This initiative hopes to inspire the youth offer professional development, making ballet and the arts more relevant to the community. Through this engagement with communities and audiences, Joburg Ballet aims to expose our development to the greatest possible cross-section of South Africans.
