Construction on the noteworthy Draairestaurant, or Rotating Restaurant, is expected to be complete by Christmas this year. Free State Department of Public Works spokesperson Winkie Direko says the anticipated construction completion date is the November, 25th 2014.
She further adds upon the project’s completion, the department will go on tender to find a suitably qualified third (3rd ) party to manage the restaurant while paying rental to the Free State Provincial Government, in that way enhancing revenue collection.
Bloemfontein Courant reported earlier this year that the restaurant is said to keep its old appearance. Direko confirmed the construction is currently at 82%.
