Construct Your Skin 2013

Construct your Skin is an event hosted by Fractal (an ad hoc committee of The Friends of Oliewenhuis Art Museum). The competition, previously known as Shed your Skin, was successfully held for the first time in 2003. In 2011, Fractal decided to revive the event, which will be repeated again in 2013. Construct your Skin is a fashion show with a difference. Art departments of tertiary institutions, high schools, fashion schools and members of the general public are challenged to construct a functional, wearable sculpture which expresses one or more of the following themes: construction/reconstruction and/or deconstruction. Fractal is very proud to announce that Peri South Africa (leaders in formwork and scaffolding technology) is the major sponsor of this year’s Construct your Skin event.
This exciting event will be held in the back gardens of Oliewenhuis Art Museum at 18:30 on Friday 11 October 2013. Tickets are only R20 per person and will be available at Oliewenhuis Art Museum prior to the event and at the gate on the evening of the event. Come and join us for this fun, glamorous evening and support Fractal as it provides opportunities for young, talented artists to expose their creations and abilities to a wider audience. Live entertainment and a cash bar will be available. For further information please contact Yolanda Els, Education Officer, Oliewenhuis Art Museum at 051-011-0525 (ext 611) or yolanda.els@nasmus.co.za
