Free State residents can expect cloudy and cool weather conditions for this weekend.
Forecaster at the Weather SA Bloemfontein, Toni Rossouw said that we can expect the rest of today to be rather cloudy with some thunder showers over most of the Free State province, except over the western areas.
“It will remain partly cloudy for Saturday but the rain will be confined to the extreme north-eastern parts of the Free State province. The chance for partly cloudy to cloudy weather increases on Sunday, and we expect some showers and thunder showers towards late Sunday afternoon into Monday morning,” he said.
Rossouw added that they have issued a watch today for heavy downpour in places that might result in possible urban flooding but this is mainly in the Welkom, Sasolburg, Vrede and Frankfort areas.
“With the heavy showers we might get heavy downpour or hail within the thunderstorms so residents should always be aware and careful of this,” he concluded. – Seithati Semenokane
