Christoffel Neuhoff case postponed

GALOOME SHOPANE The assault case against Sergeant Christoffel Neuhoff has been postponed to 30 October for a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

37-year-old Neuhoff, who is a member of the Boipatong Crime Prevention Unit in Gauteng, is accused of assaulting brothers Neil and Eben Sonnekus at a filling station in Langenhoven Park.

Neuhoff allegedly beat Neil while he, his friend and Eben were waiting for an order at a fast food restaurant.

Neil allegedly spent a week at the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein and was treated for a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

The incident occurred in the early hours of March 2.

Neuhoff is currently out on R500 bail.
