This week is Child Protection Week and Childline Free State will be focusing on special needs schools as children from these schools are often not included in the programmes that is offered.
Child Protection Week is nationally driven because child protection is even more thought of during this time.
This week signifies a great opportunity for Childline to make the public more aware of its mission and spread the word even further to protect the innocent.
Prevention Manager for Childline Free State, Monica Mabilo, feels that although the week does increase awareness and knowledge on the resources available, it should not be a one week project or effort.
“Child protection should be a daily priority and a lifelong commitment,” Mabilo mentioned. “Our Bloemfontein events start next week.
“This week our awareness team will be visiting schools in Botshabelo,” Mabilo said. Visit www.bloemfonteincourant.co.za to see where the various activations for Child Protection Week in the Free State will be taking place.
