Ceramic Plates Workshop held at Oliewenhuis

Oliewenhuis Art Museum is hosting a Ceramic Plates Workshop on Saturday 8 October from 9:00 – 16:00. The workshop is to be presented by three renowned Free State ceramicists, Dina Grobler, Helena de Waal and Toni Pretorius. It will provide attendees with the opportunity of creating their own unique ceramic plates by learning how to mould, shape, apply texture on and carve clay. The workshop will focus on ‘wet work’ techniques used to create a ceramic plate. A follow-up workshop that explores techniques used on bisque-fired pieces will be held on 5 November 2016. Anyone interested in learning the fine art of ceramics is welcome to attend. The workshop fee is R300 and includes all materials, the firing of the plates and refreshments. Attendees should please bring their own lunch or order from The Terrace Restaurant on the premises. As limited space is available, booking for the workshop is essential. To book, or for any enquiries, please contact Yolanda de Kock at 051-011-0525 (ext 200) or yolanda@nasmus.co.za.
