Local power utility Centlec has announced that vital infrastructure upgrades will commence in Heidedal on Monday, 3 November 2025, and are anticipated to be completed by 15 December 2025.
“Our teams will begin work to replace a stolen 11 kV cable between Frans Fuller and Ooswerf Substations in Heidedal,” the utility said.
Excavations to complete the upgrade will affect several roads in the area, namely Dr Belcher Road, Devin Street, Parish Avenue, De Vries Street and Frans Fuller Street.
“This project forms part of our commitment to improving the reliability and safety of electricity supply across our service area,” Centlec said.
The power utility also thanked residents for their patience during the upgrades.
“Our teams will work diligently to minimise disruptions, and any planned outages or access restrictions will be communicated in advance,” they added.
Centlec urged residents with further questions to contact their customer service centre at 051 409 2252.
