Bloemfontein – Following a hectic schedule in the Premier Soccer League, Bloemfontein Celtic shift the focus to the Nedbank Cup Last 16 as they prepare to host National First Division side, Witbank Spurs at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo on Sunday afternoon.
A hat-trick from midfielder, Musa Nyatama, braces from Lerato Lamola and Vuyani Ntanga as well as Joel Mogorosi’s strike guided Siwelele to an emphatic 8-0 demolishing of the University of Stellenbosch in the last 32.
Elsewhere, Spurs stunned Free State Stars 1-0 to progress through to the next round, and will look to make the quarter finals at the expense of another Free State outfit.
However, Celtic spokesperson, Sello Nduna told Courant Sport that Spurs are at home to one of the dangerous sides, when they play at home.
“It is not an easy game; we are not going to underestimate them but give them the respect they deserve,” said Nduna.
“Unfortunately for them, they are coming to a place where we don’t lose.”
Last season, the Bloemfontein-based outfit made the quarter finals after beating Ea Lla Koto 2-1 at Charles Mopeli Stadium, but was eliminated after losing 1-0 to the defending champions, Kaizer Chiefs.
However, Nduna said it was history. The team is looking good and preparing for a new challenge.
“We are looking forward to the game against Witbank Spurs so we qualify for the quarter finals of the Nedbank Cup,” concluded Nduna.
The match kicks off at 13:00
