Cosmos are believed to have an interest in the Botswana international, following the solid campaign in the City of Roses, where he scored five goals in 28 appearances for the local side.
His recent outstanding performance displayed in Botswana’s 1-0 victory over Burundi in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations second round qualifier also triggered teams wanting to sign him.
However, Phunya Sele Sele’s spokesperson, Sello Nduna, insisted the Botswana skipper is still contracted to Celtic.
“We’re not even going to bother ourselves to comment about it. We saw that article on one of the websites. It’s like a joke to us,” Nduna told Courant Sport.
“I mean Joel (Mogorosi) is playing in the premier league, how can he go and play in the first division?”
“However, even if they (Cosmos) have an interest in him, they’ve never spoken to Celtic about it. So we’re going to treat the news as rumours because we haven’t yet been approached,” Nduna added.
Siwelele have opened talks with other teams to acquire players to strengthen the team for next season, but Nduna said he would not be able to reveal the names as yet.
“Possibly within the next week or two I should be able to confirm the players we have signed,” he said.
He said that Celtic are looking to sign a central defender, one or two strikers and a winger.
They are also in search of a midfielder, should the league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, deny the permanent signing of Musa Nyatama.
Meanwhile, the local side has also denied reports linking their star striker, Frank “Gabadinho” Mhango, with Kaizer Chiefs.
The 22-year old, who was nominated in the PSL Young Player category, managed to walk away with the Celtic Players’ Player of the Season and Rookie of the Season awards last season.
Mhango found the back of the net eight times in 14 starts for Celtic and it is no surprise he is being targeted by the top PSL clubs.
