Vuyani Rammoko, better known as “Canvaas” to his scores of fans, is an 18-year-old up-and-coming hip hop rapper, song writer and entrepreneur from Khotsong in Bloemfontien, who also has a T-shirt line that has taken the streets by storm.

Canvaas’ musical journey started at the age of 13 when he was mostly influenced by artists such as A-Reece and Emtee, who he still believes are the best rappers of their time.

“My whole life I have always put music first. My father, also a great music lover and my number one fan, has always encouraged me to pursue my music career.

“I have known from a very young age that music is my calling, because my friends have always told me that I have a voice that can catch the ear of the listener. And I must say, my song writing skills aren’t too bad at all. Since I started writing music, I have never looked back,” he said.

Early in 2017 Canvaas met Ramanhof Dynamic, a producer whom he worked with on his first single, titled ‘’AmeniI’’, which helped him to get a fan base in Bloemfontein.

“It was such an uplifting song that will hopefully teach the youth the value of praying. Its lyrical content will hopefully improve their lives with words that will help them to believe in themselves and elevating themselves to a higher life,” he said.

His T-shirt business was born after he performed at a local event last year wearing one of his own T-shirts. “Soon after my performance a group of fans wanted to know where they could get the T-shirt. I would like to encourage other artists not to put their whole focus on music but also look at business.
