Canine dental disease symptoms to look out for

The Bloemfontein SPCA has informed locals on what they need to look out for when it comes to canine dental diseases.

According to the SPCA, bad breath and excessive drooling are some of the signs pet owners need to look out for, amongst others, as listed by the non-profit organisation.

These include:

  • Dropping food
  • Suddenly disinterest in chewable toys
  • Change in behaviour
  • Loss of appetite
  • Swollen or painful face
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Yellow, broken, loose or missing teeth
  • Gums that are red, swollen, or bleeding

The SPCA advises that if your dog shows any of these symptoms, a visit to the vet should be your best bet.
