Local student accommodation provider, CampusKey, recently won the Best of Bloem FNB Innovation Award. According to Campus Manager, Danie Keyter, a focus on connecting students is the driving source behind CampusKey’s success.
“If we have to highlight one aspect, it has to be our student community, which is aimed at connecting students and turning our diverse culture of students into a cohesive community. However, we believe that our great design, together with our all-inclusive offering, student community and passionate team, does encourage a more successful future,” said Keyter.
Stephen Gooch, Regional Head of FNB Free State, sponsor of Best of Bloemfontein, expressed that the category was established to award a business that is at the forefront of new ideas in its industry.
“A business owner’s ability to innovate will often ultimately determine the success of his business. Innovation must be part of the business owner’s daily activities, whether it be through engaging customers to address future needs and requirements, doing research on what competitors are doing in terms of product development, pricing and fulfilment,” said Gooch.
Keyter expressed that the award would motivate the CampusKey team to achieve even more in the future. “We are honoured to have been awarded the FNB Innovation Award and we can’t help but be inspired to do more! The more we celebrate and reward innovation as a nation, the brighter our future will be,” he said.
Gooch emphasised the importance of recognising local business successes as a proudly South African banking institution. “Businesses are the heartbeat of any local economy due to the unique services they offer or products they are selling, and of course, the employment they provide,” he explained.
“From an FNB perspective, we are a proudly South African bank and we want to partner with local businesses as a team of dedicated locally based business bankers, whether it be starting, running or growing your business,” added Gooch. – Nomaqhawe Mtebele
