Through fashion, music, arts, and design The Kash Kollective initiative aims to transform the city’s creative landscape by inviting local stylists and designers to take part in this venture.
The launch of this Creative Youth Empowerment Initiative will take place from 26 – 28 July at the Five Six Tambo Arts Centre in Bloemfontein, from 17:30.
Stylists and designers will have the opportunity to join The Kash Kollektive and showcase their fashion designs for sale on the runway as part of the launch. Event organisers have requested that participating designers create clothing labels for each garment.
“Stylists and Designers will compete over the course of the weekend in a race for sales and profit that could also lead one lucky contestant to receive an official partnership and further investment in the newly formed Kash Klothes enterprise,” read a statement by the initiative.
Co-founded by DuPreez Strauss, this initiative will provide young talent with resources and opportunities that they need to unlock the potential of a start-up business to become commercially viable.
“The Kash Kollektive is a kult of kreatives who kollaborate towards one goal: to make kash from the arts and kreate inclusive worlds where dreams kan make any soul take flight. We kreate produkts of beauty that empower our kommunity and boost kinetik kindness in spaces where anyone is welkome to collaborate,” said Strauss.
He added that art is more than aesthetics, it is about bringing ideas and a collective together.
“When artists thrive, neighbourhoods flourish. Through kollaborative projekts, workshops, and events, we bridge gaps and build konnektions. Together, we kreate a stronger, more united Bloemfontein.”
