Fashion model Caitlyn Rockman will be walking down the catwalks of New York Fashion Week from 6 to 14 September 2019.
“I still can’t believe that this is happening right now. I’m still in shock at this point. I feel like I’m just going to New York for a holiday, I can’t believe that I’m going there for New York Fashion Week,” she said excitedly.
Her mother, former Free State Finance MEC Elzabé Rockman, said they are still reeling from all the excitement. “We are between feeling proud and feeling stunned, because we only found out last Friday afternoon and we have to leave today (Tuesday), so it’s a rush because she has fittings on Thursday in New York. It’s been a rush but we are very excited.”
The Bloemfontein-born beauty started her modelling career at the age of 11. In 2017 she attended the New York Film Academy and also visited Orlando, Florida, to attend the Applause Rising Talents Showcase. She was also named the 2017 Face of Free State Fashion Week.
Rockman added that she hoped this would launch her international career. “I’m hoping that there will be agencies in New York that would want to scout me and that I’ll get more opportunities in New York itself,” she said. – Seithati Semenokane email@example.com
