A case of murder has been registered for further investigation after the police in Namahadi had found a badly burnt body near Masimong Village in the Free State.
According to a statement by SAPS, their preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was killed elsewhere and dumped near the river.
This comes after a community member who was cutting trees for wood near Namahadi River discovered the burnt body of a human being. The police were called to the scene and found the body with a wrist amputated.
The police in the area are requesting the assistance of the community and ask that any person with information that might lead to the identity of the deceased, next-of-kin or relatives, contact their nearest police station.
