Southern Region Women in Media Awards is hosting an all-women business expo and awards ceremony to empower and uplift female innovators, entrepreneurs, and dreamers.
The initiative is all about accelerating the women’s empowerment agenda and implementing strategies of the organisation to establish women.
The spokesperson of the organisation, Manneileng Letuka, mentioned that their programme is designed around women’s empowerment to ensure that the efforts of women do not go in vain.

“Women are often seen working so hard to fight poverty and feed families.
“Those are the efforts that inspire so much and always leave me in awe,” Letuka said.
The organiser strongly believes that there is a bigger and greater need for women-owned businesses and that this initiative is not only about awarding the women who are already in business but teaching the ones who want to start their own business about the logistics behind having their own business.
“We are looking forward to seeing participants that are entrepreneurs, corporate ladies, and women in government agencies as well as forming partnerships or collaborating with NGOs and financial institutions.
“I aim to reach as many women as possible in South Africa and beyond to assist with possible ways of funding, grants or business loans, to create platforms for markets. We are having Old Mutual on board and hoping to have more institutions from private sectors to government departments on the day,” concluded Letuka.
Letuka mentioned that she would be pleased to see every single woman attend the expo and draw inspiration from other female-owned businesses.
The event will be held at President Hotel in Bloemfontein on 30 August 2024. Registration fees for exhibitors start from R350 and R300 for public attendees.
