A GoGetFunding campaign has been launched for the brother of slain Anthony (Taks) Morgan. This comes after the 25-year-old victim from Heidedal in Bloemfontein was fatally stabbed by two suspects known to him.
The Crowdfunding was established in order to help raise funds for his older brother, Sydney Afrika, who is currently residing in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in order to assist Afrika with travelling expenses to South Africa to attend Morgan’s funeral.
The two brothers lost their mother at a tender age in 2003 and were placed in foster care, which resulted in them being separated. According to a family member, Patricia Morgan-Mashale, Morgan was a very active boy who was also very talented as a dancer and performer. Morgan studied drama and film production at Pacofs and graduated about three years ago.
The unexpected death of Morgan left his brother Afrika stranded as neither he nor the family currently have the funds to buy a plane ticket to attend the funeral. The GoGetFunding empowers people to raise money for anything that matters to them, from personal reasons and events to projects and more.
Morgan was stabbed in the early hours of Sunday morning by suspects known to the family after an alleged quarrel about an Oka pipe (Hookah). According to police spokesperson Ikobeng Hlubi, two suspects aged 17 and 20 have been arrested and will appear in court on today.
