Brighten a child’s Christmas this year

OFM, together with Child Welfare Bloemfontein and Childline Free State, is calling on listeners to help put smiles on the faces of more children this year.

OFM News reports that this partnership is hosting a Christmas Gift Drop-Off Drive on 3 December at 54 Aliwal Street, Bloemfontein. The year 2020 had many changes but a few things have not changed – children still need care, love and with Christmas just around the corner, the lack thereof will be emphasised.

Unwrapped gifts for children, aged between 1 and 18 years, can be delivered between 08:00 and 17:00 on Thursday.

The Mid-Morning Magic Show with Yolanda Maartens is broadcasting live from this drive from 09:00.

What types of gifts? The beneficiaries range in age from newborns to 18 years. 58% are girls and 42% are boys. Most of them are between 10 and 17 years old. Consider this when buying a gift, and please remember the essentials (such as stationery and toiletries). If you would rather like to make a cash donation (to purchase school clothes), it would also be appreciated.

Child Welfare Bloemfontein and Childline Free State is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation concerned with the betterment of society and, in particular, children. They act in the public interest, for the promotion of social welfare and development, and the care and protection of vulnerable children.
