BREAKING: Mohoje to lead SA A against England Saxons

The Springbok flank, Teboho “Oupa” Mohoje, will captain the South African A rugby team for their two match series against the England Saxons.

Mohoje was named as the skipper of the side on Sunday morning, while his Toyota Cheetahs teammate at captain at the franchise, Francois Venter, will be the vice-captain.

The team assembled in Bloemfontein during the course of Saturday to start their camp ahead of Friday’s first match.

Coach Johan Ackermann of the Lions and his technical team however arrived on Friday afternoon from Stellenbosch where they were helping out at the Springbok camp ahead of their first test against Ireland.

The team took part in their first training session on Sunday, as they start what will be an exceptionally short and jam packed few days of training.

The South African Rugby Union is expected to make an announcement on Mohoje’s appointed later on Sunday.

The South African A side tackle the Saxons on Friday evening at the Toyota Stadium in the City of Roses in the first match, with kick-off at 19:00.

A week later they face the visitors in the second match at Outeniqua Park in George.
