A man arrested in connection with the torching of a clinic in Brandfort in the Free State this weekend is expected to appear before the Local Magistrate Court today.
This, after the police made the arrest on Saturday following the torching of the clinic in the Majwemasweu township. The Vaal Rock Clinic in this township burned down in the early hours of Saturday morning. It is suspected that there was a break-in before the arson.
The Provincial Health Department has since condemned the incident and confirmed critical medical equipment and patients’ records had been destroyed. The cause of the fire is still unknown. OFM News previously reported that police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, said a forensic report into the incident will be released on Monday.
