Boy (12) drowns in Galeshewe public pool

The police in the Northern Cape have opened an inquest docket after a twelve-year-old boy, Mlungisi Ranku, drowned at the Galeshewe public swimming pool.

Ranku allegedly jumped the wall with a group of friends yesterday at around 19:00, while the pool was closed. Police spokesperson, Majang Skalkie, says paramedics gave the boy CPR, but he did not survive.

Skalkie says the body has been sent for a post-mortem, and they are awaiting the results.
