Road safety in the country is a major concern which is why the Free State the Department of Police, Roads and Transport (DPRT) will be hosting an interdenominational prayer service in Bothaville this Sunday. The service forms part of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 campaign which is aimed at reducing the carnage on roads globally by 50% by the year 2020.
The service is held to plead for a change in the attitude and conduct of road users so that there’ll be a greater urgency to heed to traffic regulations and act responsibly on our highways and byways.
The church service will be held on Sunday 24 March 2019, at 9 am at Mamelang-Thuto Secondary School, and will see the department and civil society join hands to support an active partnership that will put an end to the massacre on the country’s roads. – Seithati Semenokane
